  1. David is faint of heart and far away from where he wants to be.
  2. David looks to God for refuge.
    1. God is “the rock that is higher than I.”
    2. God is “a strong tower against the enemy.”
    3. “Let me dwell in your tent forever.”
    4. “Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings.”
  3. David celebrates that God has answered his prayer and bestowed blessings on him.
  4. David seeks God’s blessings in order to thrive.

Psalm 61 and Us

  1. Often we are faint of heart.
  2. God is our protection.
  3. Jesus is the king who fulfills David’s prayer.

When hardships come, remember God’s covenant faithfulness.

  1. Run to God, not away from Him.
  2. Move toward God’s people, not away from them.
  3. Remember that a better day is coming.
