- David is faint of heart and far away from where he wants to be.
- David looks to God for refuge.
- God is “the rock that is higher than I.”
- God is “a strong tower against the enemy.”
- “Let me dwell in your tent forever.”
- “Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings.”
- David celebrates that God has answered his prayer and bestowed blessings on him.
- David seeks God’s blessings in order to thrive.
Psalm 61 and Us
- Often we are faint of heart.
- God is our protection.
- Jesus is the king who fulfills David’s prayer.
When hardships come, remember God’s covenant faithfulness.
- Run to God, not away from Him.
- Move toward God’s people, not away from them.
- Remember that a better day is coming.
